Social responsibility

Carmen and Reinhold Würth Foundation

Focus on helping those in need

Corporate social responsibility is a cornerstone of Würth Industry's corporate culture. It is of paramount importance to us that, in addition to distributing reliable, high-quality products, we actively participate in supporting disadvantaged groups. This is why we established the Carmen and Reinhold Würth Foundation in 1991, whose objectives and operations align perfectly with the company's philosophy and strategy.

n the beginning, the foundation supported residents of foster homes and retirement homes through Christmas gift donations.

During the Tisza flood, our colleagues organised donations for those affected on their own initiative.

  • Scholarship Programme: Supporting socially disadvantaged but outstanding university students (Óbuda University, University of Pécs, Széchenyi István University).
  • Youth Camp: Every summer, Würth organises an Environmental Youth Camp for children in multiply disadvantaged situations. In 2025, we held the 30th anniversary camp, where thousands of children over the years have had the chance to relax and learn about the love of nature.
  • Occasional Support: Assistance for scientific competitions, student projects, healthcare institutions, and people in need.

The Foundation’s work has been acknowledged with several prestigious awards, including:

  • Tódor Kármán Award (Ministry of Education)
  • “For Our Environment” Award (Ministry of Environment)
  • Donát Bánki Memorial Medal (Budapest Technical College)
  • Partner of the Year (Óbuda University)

Creating value for communities

For Würth, art is not merely an aesthetic experience, but one of the most powerful tools for community building and social responsibility. The art programmes founded by Reinhold Würth are now available in many countries around the world, creating a bridge between the company, its employees, and society.

The collection established by Reinhold Würth now includes more than 20,000 artworks, ranging from classical masters to contemporary creators.

The collection is exhibited across 14 museums and exhibition spaces throughout Europe, including the Hungarian Würth Headquarters in Törökbálint.

The Würth Museum in Künzelsau has been showcasing selections from the collection since 1991, welcoming tens of thousands of visitors annually.

Würth cultural centres regularly host world-class concerts.

The repertoire includes classical music, jazz, and world music performances.

The Würth Concert Hall in Künzelsau is one of Europe’s most modern concert venues, where renowned artists such as violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter and the Berlin Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra have performed.

In 2017, Carmen Würth founded the Kulturhaus Würth cultural centre and the Bibliothek Frau Holle library in Künzelsau, based on her private collection.

The diverse collection of over 9,000 works and the programmes organised in the library bring literature closer to the public in innovative ways.

The in-house Swiridoff Verlag publishing company – also available as an online bookstore – publishes literary works, educational books, and exhibition catalogues.

The Würth Foundation has been committed to supporting the arts and culture for decades, as demonstrated by prestigious awards and collaborations:

  • JMD Würth Prize – since 1991, in cooperation with Jeunesses Musicales Deutschland, supporting young talents in classical music.
  • Robert Jacobsen Prize – since 1993, recognising outstanding figures in contemporary sculpture.
  • Würth Prize for European Literature – since 1997, honouring prominent writers from across the continent.
  • Reinhold Würth Promotional Prize – awarded since 2007 as part of the International Violin Competition.
  • Since 2015, the Foundation has also supported the Poetry Professorship at the University of Tübingen, inviting numerous world-class authors as guests.

Würth Industry and Sport

Würth Industry and Sport

Passion, performance, support – we are present in sport too

The shared values of sport and industry – perseverance, teamwork, discipline, and pushing boundaries – are closely linked to Würth Industry's philosophy. This is why the company has supported international and domestic sporting events, teams, and talents for many years, from elite sports to youth development, including sports for people with disabilities.

In addition to our international efforts, it is especially important for us to take an active role in social responsibility also in Hungary. That’s why we support the Szentes Water Polo Club, whose youth team will compete under the name Würth Industry Szentes in the 2025 season. The aim of this partnership is to provide children with opportunities to engage in sports, promote a healthy lifestyle, and strengthen community values.

Würth is also an active supporter of football, the world’s most popular sport. The company sponsors matches and teams both locally and internationally, helping to develop the sport and make it accessible to a wide audience. Würth’s involvement in football reflects the brand’s closeness to communities and its support for fan experiences.

Würth has been a committed supporter of winter sports for decades. The company maintains a close partnership with the German Ski Association, supporting athletes in biathlon, cross-country skiing, ski jumping, and alpine skiing. As a regular sponsor of World Cups and World Championships, Würth contributes not only to elite sports achievements but also to the future and community strength of winter sports.

In the world of motorsport, technical precision meets a passion for performance. Würth has been present for years in prestigious racing series such as DTM, supporting drivers and teams as a partner. Participation in motorsport highlights the brand’s technological reliability and its commitment to speed and innovation.

Würth places great importance on social responsibility in sports as well, which is why it has supported Special Olympics Germany since 2008—the world’s largest sporting event for people with intellectual and multiple disabilities. Supporting sports for people with intellectual disabilities not only provides opportunities to compete but also promotes acceptance, equal opportunities, and community building through sport.

The discipline, elegance, and strategic thinking of fencing closely align with Würth’s values. The company has supported the German Fencing Federation and young talents for years, who achieve outstanding results in international competitions. Supporting this sport symbolises the connection between tradition and modern performance.

Among the sports of the future, eSport plays a prominent role in Würth’s sponsorship programmes. The company’s presence in digital competitive sports creates opportunities to directly engage with younger generations. By supporting international eSport events and teams, Würth builds a bridge between the industrial world and digital communities.
